Charles Anderson, Chief of Operations, MFTt. I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern with Healthy Partnerships Inc. in Fairfield, CA. I received my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family counseling from the University of Phoenix in March 2016. I received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix in 2012 and as Associate’s Degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2010. As well as being a therapist, I hold the position of Executive Director within Healthy Partnerships Inc.
Within Marriage and Family therapy I work with a diverse population of Mental Health and Substance Abuse clients. The area of focus that interests me is trauma and how individuals process and navigate life with the underlying events promoting different coping behaviors. I have been working in the helping profession for a number of years and have extensive knowledge and practical experience working with families. The therapeutic technique Humanistic Existentialism is a fundamental component of my orientation along with Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Acceptance, Moral Reconation, and Inner Child Therapy techniques, which I am still crafting.
Originally from Michigan, I moved to California in 1990 with the United States Air Force where I served for 10 years as an Aircraft Mechanic. I served my country by deploying in support of the Gulf War in Saudi Arabia numerous times. While this experience will forever be cherished in my life, it was a time of discovery for my true passion: people. I learned that no matter where or who we are, all of us have unique qualities that we use to impact those around us and sometimes need a gentle push to fulfill our destinies.
After the military I became a construction engineer assisting with the building of an array of prominent facilities in Northern California. During the 2009 recession I decided to return to school and pursue higher education in the Mental Health profession to compliment the experience I gained working with others throughout my life. I have a deep spiritual belief system and have been happily married for over 20 years.
